CIRCULARITY STATEMENT

Throughout the course, I gained substantial insights into sustainability practices. In developing my collection, a primary focus was on crafting garments from single fibers, thereby facilitating their potential recycling into polyester at the end of their lifecycle. I did, however, apply a liquid rubber coating to one piece to achieve a latex appearance and texture. Despite this deviation, I ensured that clear recycling instructions were included on the garment labels.

During my research, I encountered Project Re:claim, a collaborative initiative between esteemed corporate wear specialists, Project Plan B, and the Salvation Army Trading Company Ltd (SATCoL). This venture has effectively pioneered the recycling of polyester textiles into raw materials at a commercial scale, utilizing cutting-edge technology. Furthermore, SATCoL is poised to establish a fabric sourcing farm, further enhancing their capacity to process additional clothing items.

LATEX GARMENTS

Upon the 100% polyester garment labels, SATCoL has been clearly indicated, signifying the directive for the owner to consider donating the garments to the Salvation Army upon reaching the end of their lifecycle. This initiative aims to facilitate the recycling of the garments back into raw materials.

Included on the liquid rubber-coated garment labels are instructions detailing the process for removing the rubber layer. Additionally, the labels prominently feature the designation 'SATCoL,' prompting owners to consider donating the garments to the Salvation Army at the end of their lifecycle for recycling into raw materials.
